Library Overview

Our college library, established in 1963, houses a rich collection of 48,368 volumes of textbooks and reference materials across various disciplines. The library follows an open access system, allowing users to freely browse and choose resources that meet their academic and research needs.

Automation

The library is fully automated using LIPS-i-NET software with a barcode scanning facility for smooth and efficient circulation. All documents are bar-coded for quick transactions and effective inventory management.

OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue)

The library provides an OPAC facility to help users search and locate resources easily. Users can access information about books, periodicals, CDs, floppy disks, audio cassettes, and other learning materials.

CCTV & Internet

The library is equipped with CCTV cameras for security. Internet facilities are available to access e-books and e-journals for research activities of students, scholars, and faculty members.

Wi-Fi Facility

Wi-Fi is available for accessing digital library resources. The library is an active member of INFLIBNET, DELNET, and the American E-Library consortium, providing access to a large collection of e-books and journals.

INFLIBNET – NLIST

The library provides access to 6,000+ e-journals and 30,31,000+ e-books through the INFLIBNET – NLIST platform, which is highly beneficial for staff, PG students, and research scholars.

Photocopying (Reprographic) Section

A dedicated photocopying facility is available, helping students and faculty to take copies of reference pages and question papers for academic use.

Rules & Regulations

  • Silence should be strictly observed in the library.
  • Staff and Students are required to leave their belongings within the allotted place.
  • Identity Card is compulsory for getting access to the library.
  • Students and Staff must scan their bar-coded roll numbers in the ID to the E-Gate register whenever entry and exit compulsorily.
  • Registration should be done to become a library member prior to using the library.
  • Open access system is followed in the Central Library.
  • Textbooks, printed materials and issued books are not allowed to be taken inside the library.
  • Using mobile phones and audio instruments with or without speaker or headphone is strictly prohibited in the library premises.
  • Tampering, writing or making any marks on any book are forbidden.
  • The library will not lend journals, reference books and CDs in any case.
  • The librarian may recall any book from any member at any time and the member shall return the same immediately.
