The Department of Chemistry was established in the year 1969 with B.Sc., Chemistry.
Then in 1995, M.Sc., course was added and later M.Phil., and Ph.D., courses were introduced in the year 2008.
The programmes provide students with comprehensive training in theoretical concepts, laboratory techniques, and research methodologies
across various sub-disciplines of chemistry. The department comprises a diverse team of faculty members and their research interests
span a wide range of areas.
AIM :
To provide the fundamental principles and theories of chemistry.
To equip students with critical thinking abilities, problem-solving skills, and analytical skills necessary for pursuing careers in the field of chemistry.
To promote ethical conduct in scientific research and practice including adherence to safety protocols.
OBJECTIVES :
To enhance the quality of chemistry education through implementing academic practices.
To encourage the students of first-generation learners for better understanding of basics and applications of chemistry.
To promote the economically downtrodden students to acquire better job opportunities.
