Department Overview

Since the inception of the College, the Department of English remains the core of the humanities at Kandaswami Kandar's College. The English Department has a long and successful history. It offers students academic programs from the undergraduate to the doctoral level. First established as the language department to cater to the needs of PUC students in 1962, it began offering undergraduate programs in 2000. The department expanded further by introducing postgraduate programs in 2011 and research programs from 2015. The department facilitates effective learning of English for students from vernacular mediums. It provides a solid foundation for developing critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills applicable in various fields, from banking to technology. The department's dedicated faculty members work hard to develop students' skills.

AIM :

The department desires to cultivate the inherent virtues in every student to see themselves as professionals and promote their skills in business, academia, creative thinking, and publishing. This also significantly enhances their employment prospects.
