Kandaswami Kandar's College

The college was established at Velur, a serene village on the banks of the river Cauvery in Namakkal District, under the leadership of Sri M. Parimala Kandar (President) and Sri M. Rathinasabapathy, B.A., B.T. (Correspondent). It began with Pre-University courses in 1962, shortly followed by Degree programmes affiliated with the University of Madras.

In 1967, the institution shifted to its own campus buildings, inaugurated by the then Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Honourable C.N. Annadurai. Postgraduate programmes were introduced in 1971, along with Research programmes under the University of Madras. Since 1998, the college has been affiliated with Periyar University, Salem.

The institution continues its commitment to providing equal opportunities for all and fostering academic excellence.
