The Department of Botany, established in 1972 by the Kandaswami Kandar Educational Trust, boasts a rich history. Upgraded to offer postgraduate courses in 1981, it has since expanded its programs to include M.Phil (since 1983) and Ph.D. (since 2010) degrees. As one of the oldest and most reputed departments under Periyar University's affiliated colleges, we take pride in our extensive knowledge and dedicated faculty. Our highly motivated team of well-qualified and subject-specialized academic staff provides students with an exceptional learning experience. We are committed to fostering a love for botany in our students. Through well-equipped, spacious classrooms and laboratories, we encourage them to develop a keen sense of observation and the ability to analyze diverse phenomena using appropriate methods of illustration.
